"Major? What are you doing here?" asks Asek shocked.
„Wollen Sie den Diplomaten töten?“
"Do you want to kill the diplomat?"
„Ich tue, was getan werden muss“, sagt der Major.
"I do what must be done," says the Major.
Er schaut wieder durch das Zielfernrohr.
He looks through the telescopic sight again.
Er legt den Finger an den Abzug.
He puts his finger on the trigger.
Asek hat keine Wahl.
Asek has no choice.
Er darf den Mord nicht zulassen.
He must not allow the murder.
Er zielt auf die Schulter des Majors.
He aims at the Major's shoulder.
„Major, stoppen Sie! Oder ich schieße.“
"Major, stop! Or I shoot."
„Vertrau mir, Junge“, sagt der Major.
"Trust me, boy," says the Major.
„Schau genau hin.“
"Look closely."
Asek zögert.
Asek hesitates.
In dieser Sekunde drückt der Major ab.
In this second, the Major pulls the trigger.

Der Schuss hallt durch das ganze Parlament.
The shot echoes through the whole parliament.
Unten im Saal schreien die Menschen.
Down in the hall, people scream.
Asek rennt zum Geländer und schaut nach unten.
Asek runs to the railing and looks down.
Der Diplomat steht noch.
The diplomat is still standing.
Er ist unverletzt.
He is unharmed.
Aber hinter ihm fällt ein Mann um.
But behind him a man falls over.
Es ist der Leibwächter des Diplomaten.
It is the diplomat's bodyguard.
Der Leibwächter hält eine Pistole in der Hand.
The bodyguard holds a pistol in his hand.
Die Kugel des Majors hat die Pistole getroffen.
The Major's bullet hit the pistol.

„Aber niemand hat mir geglaubt.“
"But no one believed me."
„Sie dachten, ich bin alt und verrückt.“
"They thought I was old and crazy."
„Also musste ich es selbst erledigen.“
"So I had to do it myself."
Asek steckt seine Pistole weg.
Asek puts away his pistol.
Er zittert.
He is trembling.
Er hat fast einen Helden erschossen.
He almost shot a hero.
„Warum haben Sie es mir nicht gesagt?“, fragt Asek.
"Why didn't you tell me?" asks Asek.
„Weil du ein guter Polizist bist, Asek“, sagt der Major.
"Because you are a good policeman, Asek," says the Major.
„Du hättest versucht, mich zu verhaften.“
"You would have tried to arrest me."
„Und dann wäre der Diplomat jetzt tot.“
"And then the diplomat would be dead now."
Die Sicherheitsteams stürmen den Steg.
The security teams storm the walkway.
„Hände hoch!“, schreien sie.
"Hands up!" they scream.
Der Major hebt die Hände.
The Major raises his hands.
Er wird verhaftet.
He is arrested.
Es ist illegal, eine Waffe im Parlament zu haben.
It is illegal to have a weapon in parliament.
Auch wenn man ein Leben rettet.
Even if you save a life.
Asek besucht den Major am nächsten Tag im Gefängnis.
Asek visits the Major in prison the next day.
„Der Diplomat ist sicher“, sagt Asek.
"The diplomat is safe," says Asek.
„Der Leibwächter hat alles gestanden.“
"The bodyguard confessed everything."
„Sie werden bald frei sein, Major.“
"You will be free soon, Major."
Der Major nickt.
The Major nods.
„Asek, hast du etwas gelernt?“, fragt er.
"Asek, did you learn something?" he asks.
„Ja“, sagt Asek.
"Yes," says Asek.
„Manchmal zielt der Feind nicht von vorne.“
"Sometimes the enemy does not aim from the front."
„Manchmal steht er direkt hinter dir.“
"Sometimes he stands right behind you."
„Und manchmal ist der Mann mit dem Gewehr dein Schutzengel.“
"And sometimes the man with the rifle is your guardian angel."
Asek verlässt das Gefängnis.
Asek leaves the prison.
Er schaut auf das Parlamentsgebäude.
He looks at the parliament building.
Es sieht aus wie eine Festung.
It looks like a fortress.
Aber Sicherheit kommt nicht von Mauern.
